Our Initiatives

Since its founding in February of 2024, STN has:

  • held a number of walking tours, “walk audits” and “bike audits”

  • participated in trail clean-ups and de-icing after major snowstorms

  • and is planning a community sidewalk- clearing effort to increase sidewalk accessibility.

Individuals involved with STN:

  • got involved with local legislation to reify the goals of the Gateway District on King and Pleasant Streets

  • participated in many public meetings of Council and commissions, to advocate for STN objectives

  • and supported policy proposals to increase housing infill and reduce parking mandates.

We also have held several social events focused on just connecting with each other and building community.  Feel free to reach out if you want to lead an event or have an idea for something you’d like to participate in.

STN productions!

These are finished works that our group or our members, in conjunction with STN, have produced.  We are very proud of the work we've done in a couple of short years!

We were so inspired by the work of now-former City Council president Alex Jarrett this past year, we decided to create an annual award to thank him.  Thanks for everything, Alex!

Alex Bowman updated us on the City's response to the STN recommendations for the Elm/ Woodlawn intersection between NHS and Childs Park.  Rather disappointing.  We soldier on.

Colin Bergman led the charge on the Data and Mapping team to create this map with all sorts of informative overlays.  Lots of information accessible here!!
